I’ve been with Andy a couple of years now, although it will seem more like ten to him, this man has the patience of Job. I am not the easiest of students, I am 77, came to guitar later than most people, and have no intention of playing with or for anyone, but the measure of Andy is that I still look forward to playing and making slow progress every day. My interest is varied, anything from Autumn Leaves to Johnny be Good, Lennon to Stevie Wonder etc. You get the picture. But also trying to understand the theory and construction of the tunes to an extent that I have composed a couple of simple melodies myself. I can recommend Andy, he is passionate and cares. Not a bad trait for a teacher to have.

I have been a professional musician from the age of 16, I was lead guitarist for Rick Astley for 7 years and also Bananarama, kim wilde and Kylie - but, like most guitarists, I was stuck in a rut of playing the same old licks. I took so much from my lessons with Andy. Highly recommended!I can recommend Andy, he is passionate and cares. Not a bad trait for a teacher to have.

I was a very nervous, very late starter - Andy's patient encouragement saw me through to playing bass in a gigging blues band. He adapts to any style of song I want to play, and has a knack of finding something in each one which goes beyond the song - a specific technique, a useful bit of theory, something to remember and use again long after that one song is forgotten. And coached me to a Distinction in two grade exams! Thank you Andy.

I always wanted to play guitar, so I had lessons when I was young - but they were really boring so I gave up quite quickly. 30 years later, I dusted off my guitar and I was determined to learn. I found Andy and haven’t looked back! He’s a great teacher, is very patient and makes playing fun. I’ve progressed loads in the 3 years, and can play some of my favourite tunes.
